The Young Singer is published in four volumes of Book One; Soprano: Contralto or Mezzo-Soprano: Tenor: Baritone or Bass. A few of the songs presented are common to all four of the volumes but generally speaking the contents of the four volumes are entirely different and contain songs composed for or suited to the specified voices.
